SHIFT x ÖGNI

Learning from the Global South

The architecture of the Global North is facing profound challenges: housing is becoming increasingly unaffordable, cities are overheating, and excessive resource consumption combined with misguided urban planning is pushing us beyond planetary boundaries. Despite the growing demand for housing, scalable and sustainable solutions remain scarce. The current resource-intensive model is no longer viable.

At this event, Peter Engert (ÖGNI) will give an introduction, followed by SHIFT founders Christine Lemaitre (CEO German Green Building Council (DGNB)) and Thomas Auer (Professor at Technical University of Munich) personally presenting SHIFT and its vision, sharing insights from the Global South and how they can inspire sustainable solutions worldwide.

The event is organised in collaboration with ÖGNI (Austrian Sustainable Building Council), Austria’s leading organisation promoting sustainable building practices.
